Lesotho is to experience another warm weather this coming week

MASERU, Lesotho, January 16, 2023/ — As parts of Southern Africa experience record-breaking temperatures and severe heatwaves, the Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) advises all to be cautious.

Lesotho is no exception in this, as during the past week the country has experienced very warm weather and still expects similar temperatures this coming week as Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) has reported.

According to LRCS, the public should resort to drinking plenty of water, staying in the shade as well as remaining indoors during the hottest hours of the day. It adds that all should be careful and ensure that they do not leave children or animals in parked vehicles.

It further says that all should avoid strenuous activities, dress lightly and check on each other (family, friends, and colleagues) regularly.

Meanwhile, according to LMS to Lesotho is to experience another warm weather this coming week as she expects maximum temperatures ranging between 20°C and 33°C while minimum temperatures will be between 12°C and 20°C in the Lowlands.

The statement from LMS discloses that during the coming week, the highlands will experience maximum temperatures ranging between 16°C and 30°C and minimum temperatures between 07°C and 15°C.

It reveals that partly cloudy, dry, and hot to very hot weather conditions are expected to dominate this forecast period, with wet conditions being expected by the end of the week, where a possibility of 40 percent of rain and thundershowers is anticipated on Thursday 19 and Friday 20.

It highlights that nighttime temperatures are expected to be mild to warm, while the wind is generally expected to vary from light to moderate north-westerly and light to moderate south-westerly.
